    2014 FX SVHO Questions

I am a 360 lbs rider. Installed the RIVA Stage 1 Kit except for the Impeller. Was having difficulty with getting it off the shaft. Ski felt quicker and would max out on rpm at 7500. The ski just cavitates on take off. I belive a lot has to do with my weight. The questions I have are the following:

    1. Will the Solas 13/20 Prop cure the cavitation?
    2. Should I get it depitched to help out with my weight? What pitch?
    3. Should I go with a Lucky 13 cone? Which spacers?
    4. Do I have a rpm limiter? If so, how high is it?
    5. Would a SCOM help?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

    Thanks,

Dave, your problem is you are now overpowering the stock impeller. The 13/20 comes with the kit for good reason. You will need it to get peak performance. You should also consider the Lucky 13 adjustable cone. They work extremely well on these skis.

Prop and pump cone will make a drastic difference in your craft. SCOM is also a desired mod. Have Jim's Performance repitch the Solas 13/20 to a 13/18.

Thanks for help and the discount!!! I do want to get the Lucky Cone! Which spacers would you recommend for my setup?

I have been reading a lot about the 13/18. I'm going to do it. What kind of rpms/ speed do you think I will be looking at?

I would try just the prop and see how it goes. My ski is making considerably more power than you are and I am also a big boy and I have pretty much zero cavitation with that big Solas prop and stock pump cone.

I'd start out with no spacers on the pump cone, that's what I ended up with. I'm just under 7600 rpm. Wish I had about 100 rpm more, but that's where the cards landed with no spacers.

See above, your target should be about 7700 rpm. Speeds, with proper supporting mods, will be in the 74-75 mph area.

I may try the stock cone on the next trip, just for comparison sake. If it brings up my rpm to the 7700 area, speed increase to 75+, and still little to no cavitation...I'd love it.

the fx svho doesnt require the SCOM as it doesnt have a speed control on it. thats why it isnt offered in the kit. like all have said the prop and pump cone will make a world of difference.
