    Please explain HP difference between RXP-X 1494cc and GTR215 1494cc...

    After riding an RPX-X this weekend, I was set on getting one. I started looking at BRP's site and came across the GTR 215. Why is this ski listed at 45 HP less when it's the same engine?

    I'm thinking that though it's technically a 3 seater, it might be more playful than the RPX with such a deep v-nose hull, no?

    Plus it's about 3K less which means I could mod it and come up the same...

    Thoughts?

    Larger charger and I think larger intercooler as well.

    When you say bigger charger, are we talking about the wheel or the entire charger?

    I would guess bigger injectors and likely beefed up internals, along with IC and Charger.

    This was from an article on RXT vs RXTX in 2008.
    With the addition of a bigger supercharger and an internal intercooler, the engineers at Sea-Doo have managed to squeeze a reported 255 horsepower out of the Rotax 4-TEC engine.

    GTR. Smaller SC, internal IC, smaller injectors, different ECU mapping. The hull is very different and more "playfull" than a Rxpx. Many people here, myself included though, feel that the Rxpx is the best all around watercrat Seadoo makes.

    The 255 has an external intercooler, while the 215 has a smaller one in the intake manifold. The 255 has 42# injectors, I am not sure what the 215 has, but they are smaller. The 255 charger has a larger wheel and a different housing. You can interchange the chargers to upgrade, and a lot of people do, you just need the injectors too.

    This is for the 09 and down skis, I am not sure what the newer ones have exactly, but I can assure you that all the supercharged engines have the same internals though.
