Seadoo GTX 155
Just picked up an 09 GTX155 with 29hrs. Has basically done nothing in the past 4 years.
Runs a bit crappy due to the stale gas, have added 20liters of high octane 98 and some fuel condition/injector cleaner.
Pulled all the spark plugs and all are equally coloured, no dramas there, no evidence of in cylinder corrosion.
The only thing is the oil is overfull, HOW do I remove some, what tools and procedure?
Hoping to go for a bit of a trial run on fresh water tomorrow with this machine.Last edited by Tradewind; 08-01-2015 at 11:36 PM.

First ride. Mostly OK
Anyone got advice on this?
Ive got 29 hrs on an 09 GTX and it sounds like a small stream of stones are being crushed through the pump at anything above half speed of the craft. I am thinking its a bit more noise than I would expect from cavitation. It made 96kmh or 59mph
Its been sitting for a lot of years too.
Pump bearings you think??

Found the issue, removed the pump and found a MASSIVE groove in the wear ring. Seems someone has tried to operate the ski with thick amount of weed or similar jammed in the impeller intake area
Getting a new wear ring on the way
Are the new stainless lined ones the way to go?

IMO go solid ss or use stock
the cheap-o ones use wimpy plastic and they just get crushed down

Skidoo -
OK, will go with that suggestion
What is the torque value for the LARGE nyloc nut on the jet pump shaft (inside the cone) for the 2009 GTX155 pump. Its the late model grease filled type, anyone know?

Hey mate I just sold one of them. They are prone to shaft leaks bad design. Be careful. Make sure you let the seat dry out between rides.

GTX shaft seal
Thanks for the tip
This particular craft is indeed interesting, it has a full engine to hull seal and then all the other seal stuff is inside that, I cant for the life of me see how this could ever leak inside, its 100x better than my old GTX DI which didnt give trouble at the seal, but this one is better by far
That would i should expect to see?

Question here
Do the metal bodied jet pumps such as in GTX155 transmit more noise into the craft than the plastic bodied pumps like you find the GTX DI??
I am guessing the metal pumps are noisier, true/false?

Nah I didn't notice a difference just took off the plastic 1 on my 08 GTX 155 and installed a newer OEM aluminum housing much better
