Kawasaki 900STX Ski throttle sticking open all way

Thanks for adding me to the forums. I am not a mechanic so I hope someone here has an idea. I have a 900stx that has 33 hours on it. (Sat in warehouse a while). I got it all lubed and gassed up and changed the battery. It started and idled ok and then when applying some throttle it sticks wide open. Looking down into the compartment, when it happens the lower cable kind of opens up making it throttle all the way. This of course could be dangerous when using. Any ideas why?

Cable is prob frozen

Take the throttle cable loose from the carbs and work the carbs by hand. If they move freely, the problem is with the cable.

Let me also add. It doesn't do it all the time. I can start it and isle and squeeze accelerator and sometimes it idles then few mins later it kicks into high revving all way up

When it revs up and stays, it the throttle closing? When 2 strokes start to run out of fuel they will rev up. You may have another issue. Check the cable and throttle linkage first then report back.

The cable moves freely. There is an upper cable and a lower one that leads back under the ignition area up top. It looks like that lower cable is opening the throttle up by itself.

The other cable is the choke. You close the choke to start it then open it half way to keep it running for a second, then open it all the way and it should stay running by itself. Knob should be pushed in (choke open) while you are riding it. Once warmed up, if you pull the choke knob out (close the choke) the motor will die.
