got a question. what kind of issues would you have if the pump bearing starts wearing out?

Noise. Some might think that their SC has started making a "different" kind of whine- but it's really pump noise instead.

If if when in doubt change it and get a new rebuild kit installed before it looks like this!
this ski now needs a new engine because he was spinning 8k when it let go and shoved the driveshaft.
needless to say I pulled the oil filter and he had copper filings from the crank journals
like I said when it doubt replace it same concept at charger rebuilds before it's too late

Same thing happened to a friends GTX a few years ago pump bearing let go took out the motor and almost sank the ski, fix it now.

I don't even see any uneven wear on the wear ring it must be good.i had sucked up a rock a couple years ago,and after changing impellor and wear ring, iv'e been missing 200 rpm.the rock was stuck and I was only able to go about 3 mph back home.i'm just looking for anything other than the norm that could cause that

I have to agree with the previous posts- take it apart and have a look- avoid disaster!

well im not having a problem with it I guess I was hoping it was taking away some rpm. but now im concerned. under normal wear and tear how many hours is the bearing life? I got 174hours.

its not the bearing in most cases it's moisture from the oil seal letting water in and slowly starts taking the bearing out

+ if your moving wot and it locks up now you have the chance to be in more trouble and be in front of a ski coming at you

change it before it's too late
