Motec M130 on a Spark...
Has anyone tried this yet?

why would any one buy a $5000 ski and put a $4000 ecu on it to gain a few mph.....
you can use a vetch with the loger for about $1500

Because if you're racing every 0.5 mph counts, especially maintaining revs and speed through chop.
There are plenty of guys on here with $10K skis and another $10K in mods so your statement is not really valid, its all relative.
Look at it this way, in the UK you can buy a Spark for £5.5K, then buy the M130 from Aus and it works out at £1.5K with the exchange rate, not as bigger difference as you thought.

a na motor does not need all the fancy gismos in a motec or vipec
launch control, cavitation control, exc exc
I have all three of the ecus and for your app vtech is going to be fine
now does vtech have customer support like motec....hell no
start with the vtech 100ph tune with their logger and you will be very close to a good tuned motec
you don't really need the logger, but you are looking for the perfect tune

OK you know best, there are obviously no gains from a reflash to a stand alone ignition for these motors.
Actually the question I asked was if anyone had used one on a Spark, I didn't ask for the reasons not to use one.

those are the reasons no one has one on a spark and very few on any stockish ski
motec is a great system with outstanding service
the m130 can log many extra sensors too
a good tune is a good tune no mater what ecu your using

why don't you give james bushell a call. seadoo centre just released there new stand up with a spark motor inside. a NA one that uses the oem ecu and the GP one with a turbo kit and i believe a aftermarket ecu, don't know what ecu but probably a autronic.
