    Question Drive shaft play clarification

You measure drive shaft play by reinstalling the drive shaft with only the pump and simply checking how much you can move it between the engine and pump?

Seen some conflicting reports on what is the minimum, some say 1/4 and some 3/8?

    This is for RXP

brp checks/sets it using the alignment tool not the drive shaft
but as long as there is some play its good and if you believe its moved/ too loose
then you have some problem like a broken motor mount

Setting driveshaft end play should be done when aligning the engine as the same tools are used for both. 1/4" should be considered as the minimum and 3/8" the maximum
