Lithium Battery Upgrade
I just upgraded the factory battery in my new VRX with a Shorai Lithium Iron battery, same type I use on my KTM 350. OEM was 14lbs to the 4lbs of the lithium, which holds a charge much longer, has a much longer life span and starts engines/cranks faster than lead acid batteries. Lithium Iron is one of the safest types of lithium batteries. Shorai recommends sealing the case and greasing the terminals and charge port for wet applications. Main reason for the upgrade was reliability. I do most of my riding without another boat available for towing.

I have seen this battery before and just never seen anyone actual use it in a ski. So you like it seems like?

Time will tell, but it's been great in the dirt bike, which is a high heat, high vibration application as well. These batteries do not self discharge anywhere close to the rate lead acid batteries do. I can go to start the bike after weeks of trail closures, and it cranks just as fast as it did before. The faster cranking speed starts both the bike and ski quickly, usually with one quick press of the button, instead of two or three. Clear silicon should be used on the case seam for wet applications, and get some dialectic grease for the charge port and terminals.

Looks like a good investment. Thinking about going to Destin Florida, and that would give me a little better piece of mind

The Deka AGM batteries give you all of the same or better reliability at a much lesser cost. The only downside it that they are a little heavier. Unless you are a racer, 10 pounds doesnt really matter.
