Kawasaki 1100 STX will not turn

I have a 2000 Kawasaki 1100 STX with 35 hours on it.. the previous (and only other owner) rarely used it and kept it in his garage.. It should be in great shape....
It ran great for 3 months. 2 weeks ago, it would start without any issues but struggled getting up to its top speed of 55mph. We would have it full-throttled and would only reach about 30-35mph.
This past weekend, we took it for a ride.. again, topping off at about 35mph, I kept it at full throttle for a good 60 seconds at which point it began to slowly climb to 55 mph. It ran as usual at this point.
We had fun on it for about 45 minutes until I whipped it around, and half-way through the turn the power went from 100% to 20% in the blink of an eye..
I heard an uncomfortable sound from the motor running and felt a light (but yet uncomfortable) vibration through the seat.. so I cut the engine.
I attempted restarting several times but continued to hear the noise and feel the vibration, so continued to cut the engine.
We were drifting towards some rapids, so I turned the ski on to maneuver us out of the way, and the engine did not sound good.. and eventually died on us.
We have not been able to start it since. Our battery is full of power, but when we attempt to start the engine, it makes a loud click one time, then nothing else.. With the seat off, we are able to see that the sound is the drive shaft turning slightly then stopping..
Any and all input and ideas are greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you have a locked up motor or jet pump. Pull the spark plugs out, if one of them is a grey color, that's a bad sign and a motor rebuild is in your future. If your not very handy with a wrench, you will need to find a jet ski shop in your area that can look at it and tell you whats going on.

Yep, sounds like you seized it. Do a compression test. I'll bet you've got one cylinder that's real low. Look for an oil line that has fallen off.

It won't turn over Steve. Hard to do a compression test on a seized motor.

The plug on the left is normal.

Good point! However, every PWC engine that I've seen seized would turn over after it cooled off.

Not mine. This is #3 rod bearing, that went with the grey spark plug posted above.

Gentlemen, Thank you for your help. I had a chance to check the spark plugs and it turns out that 2 of the 3 are entirely grey underneath.
What are your recommendations for fixing? Also, what could have been the cause of this to occur?

    Thanks again,
    Kevin
