Cavitation With ETLB Wheel & 155 Skat Impeller

So just how bad would the cavitation be when running a ETLB wheel, with a Skat 13/23 (155)? This would be with an 87 nozzle and an old style (not the adjustable one) R&D cone.

I think the ETLB can prob spin a 13/18 (160) w minimum cavitation, and wondering if that may be a better route?

depends if you want holeshot or top end. the consensus is anything under 15lb can't spin a 160

It's hard to get rid of the cavitation with the 155 setup, even with the R&D cone. I went with the Riva 160 pump and a 12/19 impeller, and got rid of the cavitation, but lost speed. Looking back, I should have kept the stock pump and ran a 160 impeller. I have since upgraded to an E1 wheel to try to get my speed back.
I think the 13/18 160 with the stock pump would be a good route.

I agree, you are wasting your time with the 155mm setup. I have an ETLB on my 2008 FX SHO. I also went with the 160mm wear ring, 13/19 skat, L13 cone w/1 washer, and 85/91mm venturi/steering nozzle. I am at 76.6mph but I am still tuning the AFR's so I think I can get closer to 80mph. There is no cavitation at all. The hole shot is incredible.

I have a buddy spinning a 160mm with 13-14psi on an SHO just fine.

All I did was change from a skat 13/17.5 pitch from Jim and was running 82.5mph with it at 8650rpm. (Kanaflex intake hooked up)I put the svho Solas in pitched by Jim to a 13/18 and went 82.5 at 8400rpm. It's a huge heavy prop. But still ran just as fast at 8400rpm So I then hooked my kanaflex back up since I always usually try new setups with no kanaflex intake since it's always a big jump in power. Then that's how I got my current best of 85.7

No doubt the Solas is a Bombass prop!! I was only getting maybe 3/4 blips @ 20#'s last year. This is supposed to be kind of a chill build (more of a low boost & budget thing). So it might have to stay B1 or C3 to not blow off a 155 Skat. But if things do snowball then the Solas with a ET 15.5 - ET19 is THE ticket..
