Okay speed nuts... give me the low down on mods....

As my first post mentioned, it's been a ton of years since I've been on a real jetski (Ultra 150 at 72.6 mph) sustainable for as long as I cared to keep my hand in the throttle.

So I've read every mod available from all the different companies. Without bashing any specific company, I'm looking for a general consensus on what mods to do to a 2015 310R. I'm not looking for outrageous speeds, I'd like to be able to run 73-75 (okay, 85 would be great...LOL)

But seriously, give me the low down on what does or doesn't work. I've read every forum post and watched enough You Tube videos to make my eyes bleed. I'm sure this has been beat to death but the 310R has been out long enough that most everyone in the know should already know this.

So, here's what I was looking at... Please feel free to add on to my short list.

    1) Speed limiter removal

    2) ECU reflash (haven't decided on which vendor) Want to stay on pump gas.

    3) Ride plate (still trying to find out if it's worthwhile)

    4) Are the 310R sponsons adjustable? If not or not enough, which brand?

    5) BOV block off plate.

    6) intake grate (not sure which brand)

    7) Last but not least, will someone give me a straight answer as to what prop to use if any? I can't seem to find a general consensus.

Please feel free to add or remove items as necc.

    THANKS!

    1. Definitely get the SCOM
    2. A reflash won't add any more speed than an SCOM. Leave that off unless you want to improve acceleration.
    3. Riva plate is best for flat water speed. R&d won't add a whole lot of speed but would help handling exponentially.
    4. no, stock sponsons are not adjustable. I'd suggest you get to where you can ride it to its full potential stock before upgrading sponsons. When you do, go riva/farthing.
    6. The stock is a great all around grate. The R&D adds speed, but costs you in acceleration and rough water ability.
    7. For top speed, keep the stock prop. The 14/21 is a great prop as well for acceleration, but I achieved the highest speed with the stock prop.
If you ride mostly flat water, you may be able to use a wedge to gain speed. Also a few free mods you can do. Remove the recall plate, trim rear tubes, and anything else you can do to get more air to it. Good luck!

    DH,

Thanks bud, I really appreciate it... Yeah, before I do any mods (except the SCOM) I'm going to break it in and ride it first.

    Are all SCOM's created equal?

    Thanks!

Yes, for the most part. The R&D is a bit easier install, but they both do the same thing.

I don't think the r&d scom works with the 310. Only riva. if I remember correctly they didn't put them into production

I think R&D just released one for the 310 a couple weeks ago.
