    Shipping a jet ski from east coast to west

    I am in the process of buying a ski in Ct and live in Ca. So it's only 3000 miles between me and the ski.

    The reason for this post is to say I love this place. Through the buyer and the network of theis forum I have found a member who does freight shipping as a job.

    So I call UShip and got a $1700 quote which was close to the other two quotes I had gotten. Then I call the forum member and the quote is almost a third of that I love this place.

    Wow, thats around $0.20 per mile...unheard of really. Must have had bunch of side loads.

    Many times I've found skis that I wanted to buy but after adding high cost of shipping it made it less worth the trouble. I have nothing in sight now but would be nice to have such a resource available.

    BTW: Was this dock-to-dock?

    That was dock to dock business to business. This is an easy move . No side loads per se. This is not USHIP. This is on regular scheduled LTL major freight lines. Think Yellow, Roadway UPS freight etc.
