A performance aftermarket grate doesn't necessarily allow for more top speed... it allows your craft to maintain (as much as possible) the top speed it is capable of. When it unhooks in rough water, it looses speed... improve the hook-up in rough water and it will maintain speed.

I have the same ski and yes you are down rpm, as the rpm limit is 7650. Check all the obvious stuff first like fresh plugs, oil below the top bend, fresh 93 octane fuel. 4" air intake and well pitched Solas impeller will do wonders.
Check out my signature for ideas.

Stage 1 means different things to different people and is meaningless without listing your specific mods.
Clearly, you need to remove some pitch on the impeller. Mine is SFR pitched Solas 12.5/18 and gets to 7600-7650 rpm in the heat.

2deg wedge 3inch air,13/20 solas jerry repitched it about 2deg he said .he never said what it actually is. I did gain about 150rpm and greenwheel but still stuck at 7450rpm that's the highest rpm since it was original .that is why I was asking if I went back to oem intake if I would gain anything or any other suggestions. thanks

You are not going to get rpm back by changing the intake grate. So you have a Solas 13/20 but are unsure if it is a 13/18 now or what correct?
Send the impeller to Erik at http://www.speedfreeksracing.com and tell him all of your mods and what you are seeing and he will repitch it to perfection. That is exactly what I did many years ago and it is still running strong well over 200 hours.
