    Ride Plate Connections

Pull my engine 2008 RXT the other day and thought I Had removed all the hoses. Not so and broke the fitting out of the ride plate when I removed engine. I removed ride plate and cant really figure out how the plastic fitting attached to ride plate. Is there suppose to be some kind of male nipple coming out of the ride plate for the fitting to screw into? Thanks for the help.

You most likely need these. They fit inside the top of the rideplate and screw into the plastic barbed fittings. The newer model rideplates have male threads on the barbed fitting that screwed directly into the rideplate.

Yeah, that looks like the part 293710114. Hoping someone would have started to make them in brass. I may have to look into doing that. Do you know if the threads are npt?

This might help....upon reassembly, start tightening screws from the middle then outwards.

Great pics. Stupid design. So how are you suppose to pull the ride plate without damaging these fittings? They get glued to the hull when you use the sealer anyway.

Yeah, that may work if you get crawl back there to get a wrench on them. Hopefully the sealant doesn't keep it from turning. Guess I'll know better next time.

Look closely at the top plate...there are two sharp protrusions which fit into two grooves in the lower plastic fittings.
