    4tec crank output sleeve removal

    Hello guys
does anybody knows how to remove the output sleeve on crankshaft? it is the part#10 on the diagram.
    http://www.sea-doopart.com/oemparts/...ft-and-pistons
is it bolted on? pressed on?
I am trying to replace this sleeve after the driveshaft broke on the angle just behind the splines and damaged that sleeve and took off the sleeve on pto cover
    thanks

With the sleeve pointed towards you it comes off counterclockwise........may need a little heat to break it loose.......30 inch breaker bar and a solid vise will get you there

Do you have the drive shaft tool?????......its not the same as the impeller tool by the way but looks similar

I gave the local SEADOO boys a hand to remove one ...

They did it with the motor by locking crank and heaps of heat a big breaker bar and with one guy hanging on the bar it finally came loose .

    Have fun ..

if you have access to an engine stand.........USE IT...........Otherwise get a really FAT friend to stand on the motor....lol

Do you have the shaft tool that inserts into the splines????.......if not you may have to cut that thing off

I used ratch-it straps to hold the motor to the bench. Lots of heat and a 2' breaker bar with a 4' pipe on the end. It's not a fun task.

how would you hold the crank ? by the flywheel still on? flywheel off?
one more question, is the thread on the outside of the sleeve or on the inside? i need to know if I heat up the sleeve or the crank?the diagram is no showing that or I will wait to get the new sleeve to take it off

The collar is on the outside of the crank so the collar is female. Heat the collar.
