    02 Genesis problem

I'm working on my buddies Genesis i for him and came across a weird problem. The ski will start and idle fine. Once you run it for 15 minutes or so wot it will start to hesitate at wot then slowly idle down to nothing and shut off. I have to wait 10 minutes or so before it will restart. This is what I've done so far and no change in the problem.

    1. Checked fuel pressure good at 18 psi
    2. Checked cooling system no restrictions
    3. Swapped my personal emm for testing
    4. Swapped my tps for testing
    5. Tested cps and its in range.
    6. No codes using dw

i think the next thing I'm going to try is swapping out the exhaust temp sensor. I don't know.

You verified that the EMM cooling water is actually flowing, correct?

Is the actual engine temperature within range after this long WOT run?

Exhaust temp sensor and air temp sensor would be the next items to swap in.

Swapping in another EMM and it still had the exact same symptoms?

Emm- water is flowing verified no clogs exiting the exhaust.

Engine temp seems normal but haven't actually measured it. No overheats coming up on either emms tested or mfi.

Both emms tested had same exact results.

I might just bring dw on the next run and bring the sensors and swap one at a time. The exhaust is a little easier to physically replace. I wonder if I just plug a spare in one at a time without bolting them to see if I get a change.

    Maybe its a stator issue.

Thats what I'm thinking more and more.

The only sensor I have not changed is the air temp. Everything else has been swapped out. Well I didnt change the capacitor I cant see that causing the problem.

You can do that for testing. As long as the actual engine is not screaming in pain the sensor doesn't have to be bolted to the engine.
