PLEASE HELP!! rxp-x 255
Hello,
I bought my RXP-X 255 2008 for a month a go and it is running great when I ride WOT. But when I jump (without throttle in the air of course) or I make many turns I get the beep of EXHAUST with the temperature sign. I have cleaned my IC and I have looked for clogs in the hoses who go to the IC and to the exhaust but I have found no clogs in the hoses. I only found one thing and this is that my hose which goes from the SC to the IC was really sticky and melted outside at some spots. The hose is also very soft at the moment, the hose is in the turn also a little double. Maybe the air could not go very good through the hose to the IC from the SC and maybe is this the problem? BTW I have also replaced the sensor in the exhaust. I don't know what to do anymore maybe I have to check some where else for clogs or something? Help me please!
Thanks,Last edited by KB0316; 07-19-2015 at 05:13 PM.

Happens on these machines ... they do NOT like spinnies or other silly stuff like that, they overheat as you discovered. It is a high performance motor that generates a lot of heat and relies on pump water for exhaust cooling and having the ride plate always submerged for engine cooling. Basically you cannot do that many 360s ... it will overheat and trigger alarms on these skis.

My 09' 255 does the same thing when I go hard on it, but only when I go hard on it. After reading this post, I think Vern's response sounds about right !

Today is have tested my rxp 255 and everything is fine now!! No overheating problems any more. The exhaust was the problem. When you have a problem when you are Driving wot most of the time iT is dirt in the water hoses. But i had a problem with jumping and acceleration. Now is everything fine, new exhaust and all is ok. When you are getting the error exhaust temperature iT is always good to check all water hoses what Goes to the waterbox and to look into the exhaust.
