2014 throttle body dampers
i have had 3 ski's come in with bad throttle body dampers in the last month. 2 were 2014 fxsvo and 1 was a 2014 svfzr
symptoms are ski dies when it starts and rough idle, idle very high if ripped bad enough. And slow speed due to leaking boost.
Very easy to check start ski and grab lower hose to throttle body and move side to side and front to back if rpm's go up high or idle changes you have a bad damper.
Upgrade the stock mount with this one from the forums store

Here is a good video of Jerry showing this dampner as well as the intake manifold upgrade (ribbon delete)

Darn those moron Yamaha engineers with designing an updated and fixed design for the stress and pressures of the SVHO engine. Clearly they know nothing. Obviously the answer to all our problems is the cheap naturally aspirated part that was never designed for or tested on a forced induction motor.

Has anyone see one of these leak without it being torn? My turbo ski is acting like it has a boost leak. I've boost leak checked it to 20lbs and cannot find anything. I suspect this damper may be leaking, as it wouldn't show up in a boost leak test because it's after the throttle body. It would show up however when I'm riding and the throttle blade is open. I pulled my intake and the damper looks fine, but it's definitely flimsy and I could see how it could leak. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Adam

I am thinking to delete the ribbon and install the Riva spacer. Now that I saw this article I am thinking to replace the rubber damper on my 2014 FX Cruiser SVHO with the aluminum part as recommended by Jim since it is all apart anyways regardless. Would you suggest I repace the gasket as well while doing the job?
