Ribbon Delete - Riva or R&D intake manifold sleeve? Is one better?

Hi guys i'm new to the forum and tried searching but couldn't find any where there was a Riva vs. R&D comparison regarding the Intake sleeve/ribbon delete. Does it really matter on which one to get? Is one built better vs the other? I would imagine that they are close to identical? Any input would be great thanks!

It's for a 2012 Yamaha FX HO Cruiser

Thanks bud I really appreciate it man! I think i'm going to do the ribbon delete and an intake right away. My ski is bone stock and does 64-65 depending on how full it is with gas. Been reading up on all the mods people are doing and am glad that i chose this model!

I would focus on handling mods, you're not going to get out of the 60's mph wise.

I agree that they are essentially identical--although the designs are technically different. A few years ago someone did a side by side comparison (I think it was mjh3ides) but cant remember for sure.

If I remember right, the only real difference is the material they are made out of.

He didn't ask for opinions on how to get out of the 60's, so please STFU if you don't mind.

To the OP, it makes no difference which sleeve you use. They accomplish the same thing.

Doesn't the R&D one extend into the throttle body? I seem to remember seeing comparison pictures somewhere on here but couldn't find them in a search.

The Riva one is just a piece of aluminum pipe cut to fill the gap where the ribbon went. I should have written down the dimensions you could make one for $3.

Have a friend who made mine. He's a machinist, and it only took him 20 minutes to make. While installing, I used a flappy sanding wheel on my drill to port match the ribbon delete piece to the bore of the intake manifold.

My cost, zero $$$. Only the time to install and port match.
