    Hard Start

Fellas has anyone experienced a newer 2009 RXT IS 255 or newer 260 with a hard start issue? Basically when you hit the start button it cranks over for a few seconds and quits and then you hit it again and then it starts. This is a stock ski and no codes are popping up.

the starter solenoid is a known starting system likely failure
they seem to be random at first, until you get to no start

It turns over fine.It acts like it doesnt get fuel but I did notice that when it finally fired up there was alittle more smoke than usual so perhaps a spark issue?

On the Icontrol ski's the ECU allows you to start only a certain time. Like 5 sec.
When it's not firing up within this interval the display switches of and you have to do the start sequence again (press button, attach DESS, start ski).

Yes but it takes longer than usual to fire up.The 2011 RXT-X 260 AS that I have fires right up.After it starts its fine.....Almost as if the unit starves of fuel momentarilly and then starts.

Boosth pressure appears to be good but I don't have a boost guage on this ski since it is stock. It only see approx. 7800 ish rpms in the 95 + heat and I only see approx. 58-59 mph.It does seem a little slow but power is good and linear and consistent.Once it is started and runs for a few seconds I can stop it and it starts right back up immediately. Battery is new and fresh plugs with no codes....

Seen this once before and this ski had water ingestion through a leaky IC. Pull the hose from the IC to the TB while running on the hose or trailer on the ramp and see if water is coming out while revving the engine a few times.
