Riva intake grate woes! What's next?

After reading by through a few threads it's become apparent that the general opinion of the riva grates isn't good?!
I have one fitted to my 07 rxt and took it out over the weekend for the first time in rough/fairly choppy water with the grate fitted and all I can say is it made me want to scream! Almost no hook up and made it very difficult to ride. The conditions over here in the UK are rarely calm to flat, especially in the English channel so if anyone can advise me on which grate to look at next I'd appreciate the input. Not bothered about top speed and have r&d adjustable sponsors so something that will be a good all rounder please!

How's the top speed in smoother water ? Is there an added mph on the Worx pump loader I was checking them out also, but I have had many R&D on other ski's that work bad Azz. Worx also has some nice sponsons about $100 cheaper than $Riva$

It was my first mod. Stock I was at 68-69 and with the grate it got me to 70. I love it. Handles chop like a boss.

I can only compare to the stock grate tho

i have a 07 rxt and the worx grate on there has been on it for over 7 years..

the 04 rxp i got had sponsons and a worx grate fitted before i even hit the water with it haha.

apparently the worx ones slow the ski down.. i dont know.. i hit 88mph a few months ago on my rxt whilst playing with the riva pump and lucky13 cone.. ride ocean all the time... so it WORX for me.. haha... sorry.. oh dear..

stock grate is the fastest on the STD RXT. R&D has terrible quality control but once you modify it, it will be the next fastest grate also offering better grip. Don't bother with Riva they come apart. Worx are the best in the rough but also the slowest.
