Quick quesion about 787cc engine and 2003 seadoo xpdi

Will 787cc from 1997 seadoo gsx include whole wiring etc... worksin 2003 xpdi? Same motor mount or? For sure the wiring, cdi etc... will have to changed to 787. I love the red color xp but the di is junk i owned before and it's more difficult to maintenance so i want to stick with old school carb model.

I know some of ya would say why 787cc? What about regular 951cc? Is becauae i already have a complete good running 787cc with only 40 hours on it came from 1997 gsx that has bad hull damaged beyond repairable.

Yes it will swap over. Youll need wire harness swapped as well

Oh shit sorry 951 and 787 I don't think have the same mounts

I just finished fixing a mess of a swap on a GTX. The rear mounts will work, for the front I had a piece of 1/4" aluminum plate cut then I bolted it to the 951 hull location and bent and bolted the other side down to the hull. The 787 front mount is on the left. You could also glass a mount into the hull. Exhaust on this one were also swapped sides so I had to sort through all of that. You're impeller will also need changed as the 951 impeller will be too steep.

Well that sound not too bad. Unfortunately I plan to use same 951 impeller becayse the one from gsx is damaged. And what by the steep u mean?

Too much pitch, it will lug the motor and could cause engine damage from detonation. Like trying to take off in third gear uphill!

Although cheap for your case the XPL hull proved to be too much for 787 back in the 97 XP so may be it might be better to sell the engine and try to get a 951.

I have an xpdi. its my favorite ski of all time. Its always broken though lol
