    Intercooler advice

So I'm building my own intercooler with a bell core and xs inlet, outlet and tanks.(cut them off my old ic) My question is, the water end tanks are not deal and do not look real efficient, I thought about making my own end tank for the water out side. I would angle the edges(like a pyramid) to a flat surface end plate and make it a little deeper... Probably 1 1/8 to 1 1/4, what do u guys think about that idea.

    Why?

With the amount of water psi from the pump, altering the water side tanks is not going to make the IAT cooler.

Improving an IC starts with the core and ends with the end-tanks (air).

air flow is much more important than waterflow
also a double water pass IC usually is more efficient (cools more) than a single pass

Who makes a double pass ic core, or would that be in the construction? I do agree, a double pass would be better.

all brp are double pass and any core can be a double pass
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sea-Doo-Intercooler-Hi-flow-276000273-1-YEAR-WARRANTY-08-15-LARGE-CAPACITY-/181617764753?hash=item2a49432991&vxp=mtr

this cheepo has a few problems
first the air tanks are to small at the rear of the IC so not much air flow back there
second the water tanks are wimpy and the water divider is not sealed/welded well and the water can just by-pass the IC

The Fizzle F1000 Seadoo intercoolers and Y1000 Yamaha intercoolers are double pass intercoolers.

you want to pass the charge air over as much of the core as possible. Go look at the Garret 1K that LB did.
