    Stripped Oil Pump Gear...

The idler gear that drives the oil pressure pump completely stripped. All the other gears and the the pump itself are perfect. The engine did get wet internally at 1 hour, but has ran well til lost oil pressure at 20 hours. Has anyone seen this?

You would think with so many companies having made this mistake ROTAX would not repeat it. Plastic gears are never a good idea.

This thing brings back fond memories of my youth... cuz when I leave it out in the FL sunshine, it smells like a fresh box of Crayons.
