    Diagnose Piston Failure

Bad Piston below. Water was coming out of attached pisser on front of ski. What to check before rebuilding?

I'm gonna have small hole in crank case welded and buying a set of 3 of lightly used pistons and rings.

Lean seizure normally breaks the skirt off the piston. I wouldn't put a used piston in an ultra150m.. looks like oil lines are original and plan on taking the carbs off and giving a good inspection and cleaning

Thanks turboman! Why are you against a used Piston?

For the price of a rebuild why would you use a used pistons? You have a perfect example of what happens when the piston breaks apart. Btw what do the cylinders look like?

Cant tell the condition of those cylinders, the piston pictures you have earlier in the thread the skirts do not look that good. Kawi 1200 and a small budget never mix, you dont want it to blow up again.
