Waverunner Fish Finder/GPS install - Downscan issues
I finished up installing my Lowrance Mark 4 Chirp on my ski. Found a flat spot near the battery to put a bed of silicone for the transducer. Normal sonar seems to work fine but downscan is just a black window. I seem to remember reading some posts from 2009 or so saying that downscan in a thru-hull installation is severely degraded. Is that still the case now or is it something to do with my transducer install?
Thanks...

I loosened the ride plate bolts and it made enough clearance to slide out...
