Need Mechanic / DIY'er advise on a 2015 FX Cruiser SVHO

    Hey,
Fairly new to the forum, Lots of good info here but I could not find anything regarding my question.
I recently bought a 2015 FX Cruiser SVHO, near the end of the break in period I hit a submerged rock
(murky water) and damaged the hull pretty bad. The body shop needed the engine out to access the inner hull.
Since it is under warranty I took it to the dealer I bought it from in order to avoid any warranty related issues later.
Otherwise I would have taken it out myself.

The question is, about how may hours labor should be involved to remove and re install the engine only?
    More on this story later.......

    Thanks!

Yes it was a dealer. A "BIG" one in Birmingham, AL.
I studied it closely before taking it to them and 2-3 hours was exactly what I had guessed.
It looks very simple, a few plug in connectors and some hoses, and fuel rail just lays to the side.

The dealer charged 12 HOURS labor, just under $1,700 !!
On top of that, they left the rubber hose from the intercooler to the intake manifold off. (No boost)

I was puzzled why the ski would only do 5200 rpm WOT. (during break in it was hard to stay under 6,000)
It ran smooth and the power was almost identical to a 98 GTi I used to have.

After getting it home I was looking it over to see if maybe they left a sensor un plugged and
thats when I noticed the hose laying in the bottom of the hull clamps and all, right below where it attaches.
    A weekend of riding shot.

Any other input is welcome...I'd like to know what you guys think of the situation.

I will be calling the dealer later today.

I hear ya, I would do them all day long for half that.
If not for possible warranty issues later, I would have done it myself.
It had 1.4 hours on it....
