CanDoo Pro not activating fuel injectors & spark plugs

Previous year purchased the CanDoo Pro diagnostic software (home system).

Used it for clearing fault codes / checking IBR / monitor engine parameters / resetting TB, all good.

But now using it to troubleshoot a friends ski and when testing the injectors or spark plugs nothing is happening.

Below the screen you see the message request "activate injector / spark plug"

Spark plugs are out and connected to the ground of the motor.

The injectors are removed from their cavities and still connected.

Also testing the fuel pump doesn't work.

I can only activate the "buzzer"

When testing the old fashioned way (starting the engine) they plugs are sparking and the injectors spraying.

Off course both not tested at the same time. Wanna keep it safe !!

CanDoo just updated, ski RXT-X 2011

    Anybody encountered something similar once??

    Thanks in advance

I suspect that the ECU has gone into shut-down mode when you have tried the test. The Bosch ECU's must be kept awake consistently by tapping the start button every minute or so. Once it goes into shut-down mode, you need to totally let it go dark, wait about 6 minutes, then start again.

If this doesn't work, contact us directly at [email protected] and we will be glad to get you going.

Make sure you tap the start button before you put the key on also...

Ok, first thanks for the quick response CanDoo guys !!

I tried to activate the spark plug at my own ski and there it's working !!

Back on the other ski and again no spark or injector activating ??

    - Switch on laptop
    - Connect hardware with USB
    - Open CanDoo Pro software
    - Connect diagnostic plug
    - Press start button
    - Connect DESS key
    - 2 beeps
    - Request "read vehicle"
    - Wait till all info is loaded in software
    - Activate fuel injector or spark plug
    - And nothing, only the buzzer can be activated

I do all this within 1 minute so the cluster goes not to 'sleep'.
And did this first thing in the morning, so the ECU could not be 'locked'

It look likes this ECU is a little 'unwilling'
Adding & removing keys is also no problem.
