What would you do for a 5-6 mph gain on an 2007 255?

    I am getting a polaris MSX with a 2007 255 4tec in it. Current speed is 76(estimated)

I am not looking to risk the engine to much but being stock it can handle a little more. 5 mph would be perfect and put it over 80mph. Keep in mind the 4tec and seadoo pump is a totally new platform for me. I am unaware of the little things I need to know. Engine is rebuilt with only a port on the head as any upgrade. Otherwise it's stock.

What ecu upgrade/tuner is simple for the user? Vtec or rivia? Why? Which would you get?

Any pump issues with the rxpx/tx pumps? Any stuffing issues when you turn it up?

Is it worth it to upgrade the valve train springs and retainers for a minor mod like this?

Basically what would you upgrade if you wanted only another 5 mph?

imo raise rpm to like 8350
    add 137+4 wheel
    more hp needs more fuel
    afr/logger

the pump does not cause stuff
its the pickup/tunnel that does that

seadoo made a 215 '07, not 255. If it is a 215, +5 mph is easy, but if you are misinformed and you have a 255 08+, +5 is not EASY as the only limiters you would be dealing with is rpm and timing.

Never mind, the person I am getting it from is going to leave the rivia tune and injectors. So it should do what I want.

Jim it's an 07 with xcharger xecu and 42 injectors. Current setup is Riva ecu and 48 injectors. She has run 79.9 at 8600rpm with the Polaris 148 pump. Have not gpsed with the current seadoo 159 pump. Last ride we did 85 miles on the Hudson River West Point to Kingston. She is rock solid and very reliable. Pre Riva she hit 75 with the stock X package she even lapped and xboat at a ijsba stock class event.

So it looks like it doesn't need 5 MPH to get to 80. Just add a 137+4mm ET wheel and spacer.

No crap! If it were not for the fact it drafts so low when off plane I would get stuck a lot.

This is what I deal with during the fall winter and spring months We pay for our good weather.

Never got a clog and yes I go out in this. Just have to know what you are doing.
