    2009 FZR DIY Air Intake Kit

    Hey all,

    So i decided to create this post to hopefully help others out in their quest to make their own Air Intake Kit.

    Parts Used:

    K&N 4" Cone Filter from Riva Kit, purchased for $40

    2. Install filter support bracket onto filter itself

    3. All items assembled, the part of the pipe closest to the Super Charger needs to be cut down by 5 1/4". Use sand paper to remove access material after cutting. Remove Filter and Bracket together leaving just the pipe and 90 boot on.

    4. Install 3" to 4" Shaft Collar onto SC inlet, it fits snug, remove set screw and apply Hi-Temp Thread Sealant. Mount on the 90 rubber boot along with pipe and adjust to proper angle

    5. Install the filter and bracket as seen below. Adjust bracket so that it is flush against the side of the wall next to the factory vent. You will need to drill a hole to the lower right hand corner as seen below. Mount everything where you need it and tighten all bolts. It is very secure fit and wont move.

    I hope this helps someone. YOu can reduce cost by using a Spectre filter that is half the cost of the K&N.

    not bad. you didn't have to buy the shaft collar. you could have just gotten a 90 degree elbow reducer. same thing and spent less. but regardless great job.

    THanks. Yes i thought about doing it that way, and the 4 Ply 90 3-4 reducer is about $10 cheaper, so if someone needs to cut cost you can reduce cost by $30-40 with different parts.
