    R&D performance air filter

Hi there, I just bought a R&D performance air filter and have 3 questions:

    1) when I attach the small air filter to the one hose (see 2nd pic) the fitting is smaller than the hose and they just slide in and out easily. Would I be able to just use a hose clamp to tighten it so that it stays on snug or do I need to get a different size hose for a snugger initial fit before the clamp is put on?

    2) there are only three hoses coming from that black air filter box, I assume it's just find where the filter fits and makes sense (of the two small ones) and put it on?

    3) does the black air filter box have to come apart before it can be removed? If I take it apart do I need to be aware of any loose parts so they don't drop under the motor?

thanks! I'm new with being mechanical and putting things on my ski by myself!

Yes use a regular hose clamp to snug them up, there is no real pressure on either one of these hoses. The air filter box does not have to be disassembled to be removed, you do have to loosen up & move the oil catch can to get it out,(on the 2004-2005 model you may have to take the catch can out) the part of the box with the rubber sleeve that attached to the throttle body (facing up) comes out first.

Thanks! I'll give it a try later today! Do I just use cable ties to hold them up and out of the way?

Yes, its easy to do & you will definitely like the difference in power & it give the ski a tough, but not loud sport bike sound.

    .

Here are the pictures after I installed the air filter. Just want to make sure I did it right before I take it out.

^^I zap strapped (white zap strap) some loose wires to the hose so they wouldn't move around so much

^^Here is the second small filter, I left the bracket on that held on the black box OEM air filter so that I had a spot to zap strap the hose so it wouldn't bounce around.

Looks right, nothing has to be changed or adjusted for this mod, just put it on & go.
