VTS Rod Troubles
I got a new to me GSX Limited and the vts rod at the back that connects the vts unit to the steering nozzle of the ski was replaced with some piece of metal bar that didnt allow the vts to move. MY guess is it snapped at some point like most do at the joint. Anyways, I got the correct replacement ( I think ), installed it but no matter how far out I unscrew the rodout of the ball joint for more play, it is just too short. With the trim all the way "up" you cant turn the steering bc it rubs on the pump. It only works with the trim set to the middle or all the way down.
. I think I need the rod to stick out about 1/2 more. Attached are a few pics, one shows the length of the metal rod at 3 - 5/16ths and the other shows the total length from end to end at 4 inches. Is this the correct part??

Mind explaining the difference? Is the one I have the wrong length or is something else squirrely on my ski. Since I am the 3rd owner there is no telling whats right.
