2014 GTR or 2015 RXT-X 260

I can get OTD with cover/step/3yr warranty either a:

-2014 GTR 215 for $10,955
OR
-2015 rxt-x 260 for $14,450

I dont think either is an awesome deal, they are booth ok, so I wondered what do you guys think. I'm leaning towards the GTR. Which would you get? Performance wise they are pretty similar and I'm thinking that the extra 3.5k for the rxt-x is just not worth it.

If you got the cash go for the RXT, even if you don't have the cash go for the RXT.

I do have the cash, I just don't know if it is worth it. Seems like the gains are much smaller for a much larger price. After watching a few videos on youtube of the rxt-x vs gtr they are very similar on speed and acceleration. The GTR is supposedly better bang for your buck, and some people on here say the fun factor is better with the GTR. I'm torn between them, but leaning towards the GTR for a significant price difference.

Ski's and rules maybe different here in Europe but,
I had a GTR for 3 years and loved it
Then I rode with 4/5 other ski's all 260's.....I got 65 they were at 66/67...On long runs that makes a big difference
If it's just for you ..towing mucking about then GTR all day
Bottom line ..... you'll regret (eventually) not getting the RXTX

If money not the issue then what about the GTR for $3000 less than the 260. Then VTech ($900) it, 4" intake ($150+) and sponson upgrade ($350). ET127 wheel ($350) and external inter cooler ($500) Still cheaper than a 260 and and out perform it any day. Probably end up 280hp plus easily

I agree with you guys that I will regret it, but with the new sleds coming out soon and rumors of a 300 hp unit I will be outperformed next summer anyway. If it was about speed then I would wait till the fall and order an new 2016. I was hoping to get another machine in a year anyway and this would be the wife's ride. I putting down a deposit this am on one of them...decisions!

I'd say if your just lake/river riding with small chop 90% of the time the GTR would be fine. If your riding bigger water the S3 hull on the RXTX will handle it much better and the improved power without doing add ons.

Any dealer have a left over 2013 RXT-X in your area or within an hour or two drive. Might be an easy way to save some cash and get the price a little closer.


P.S.: If your not going to buy another ski next year I'd put this off until after the new models are released. Half the riding season is already done in your area. You'll kick yourself if the new power models finally jump in HP. Some positive signs are pointing to a low 300HP motor with new pump system. But you never know.

had the '12 GTX 215 now the the '15 RXT......very similar but I wouldn't go back....RXT definitely quicker. Plus you're getting a year newer model, that's worth something...

The prices are from a local dealer with a leftover GTR and an RXTX on the floor. The GTR was in the back lot full of water lol.

I just went thru this last week, same decisions between a new GTR or RXT...

Yes the RXT'/RXP will be quicker but i don't regret my purchase at all. The GTR is an absolute blast to drive with speed! With some supporting mods it could be as quick as the RXT/RXP. The gtr is definitely more playful when it comes to riding. Gonna probably Vtech mine once i hit my 10 hour mark!
