Trying to decide between Yamaha VX Cruiser/Deluxe or Seadoo GTI 130
Hey all, new to the forum!
I'm ready to take on a new PWC - stuck between the GTI 130 and the Yamaha VX Cruiser.
My main concern is warranty / reliability and after-sales service. Both are offering 3 years warranty. Yamaha is bumper to bumper with 0 deductible, Seadoo charges a $50 deductible. I've also read some nice horror stories with Seadoo denying warranty claims and finding any way out of a repair.
For anyone who's purchased new, how's the after sales service when it comes to warranty repairs? Are they hard to deal with? Just doing my homework and it seems that the Yamaha backs their products well. Am I able to self-maintain the waverunner and still have coverage for any issues?
Lastly, deciding between the cruiser and the deluxe, which would you go with!? Looking for something fun and exciting - Is the main difference comfort level?
Your opinions are much appreciated!

VX has a great hull for offshore handling and stability. Its all motor and easily does mid 60's with slight mods. Sorry but I think Yamaha takes the win for this one. Only other ski I would recommend would be the GTR 215 but regardless, an NA motor will always be more reliabale.
Here's the new VXR which is an awesome ski all around.
It can be had for under 11k new out the door.
Look P1 Aqua X. Most of the 200 class are running the new VXR's. At the end of the day, its what you feel the best on. I highly recommend you try t demo some or at least try and see if people in your area are willing to take you for a ride on theirs.

I picked up a VXR a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be happier. They were doing the 5 year warranty in June. Hopefully I don't need it or void it. I have a hard time leaving anything stock.

I have a question. If the yamaha dealer puts on riva racing /yamaha aftermarket parts, does your warranty remain in tact to a certain degree?

To a certain extent, yes. Many parts WILL NOT void the warranty such as handling parts, intake grate, ride plate, prop, pump, etc.. but when you get to reflashs/standalone ECU's and upgraded superchargers i think you fall out of warranty (Not 100% sure because i think RIVA offers a reflash that does not void warranty) .
