    Need help fine tuning carb on lake?!

    Ok so I have newly rebuilt carbs with pop offs set at about 22#. I have low pressure turned out about 11/2 turns and high pressure about 11/8 give or take an eighth. It seems to run great on the high end and idles great. When I give it throttle it bogs a lil and then takes off really nice. What would be the next adjustment to quit that initial bog down? Needs to get up and go out of the gate.

    By bog do you mean it spits and sputters or does it fall flat on its face?

    Wha I mean is when you get about 20% throttle it hesitates and then catches good fire and goes. It doesn't fall flat. It seems to me it is rich, but I tune the low side in a lil and out a lil. The high side adjustment has nothing to do with that amount of throttle right?

    Sounds rich on the low end. If it dies it is lean... If it sputters and takes a few seconds to clear its throat its rich. Rich is a better problem then lean..

    I actually think its easier to tune out a low speed lean condition than a rich one.
