Tiny tach ?

I have a T_TACH ( "Commercial" / Quick Update Type ) left over from my Two Stroke days.
It only has a Red Wire I used to wrap around one Spark Plug Cable for its' Inductance trigger
and 1 Ground Wire clipped to the engine.

How are you guys hooking these up to / with the four stroke engines if that is even possible ?

Set it to 720 and wrap it around the number 1 coil pack. I just cut the ground wire off and didn't bother with it. Works fine. Should show about 1250rpm at idle. Cheers

I'm gonna plead ignorance here -- how do you set it
for different cylinder numbered engines ?

There is only one "Reset" Button on it for resetting the
elapsed hours to Zero.

Best place to mount the ground wire on the TT on a SHO/ SVHO is the mounting hole for the plastic engine cover.

What was the correct setting for the 4-bangers ?
I had to replace a DEAD commercial TTach on my GPR and it likes 120*.
-damn battery died after ONLY 9 years !!

Initially idle read 5,400 rpm at 360* (so one-third, 120* was at 1,800 ish)

Warning: the new TTach are not as deep. I had to remove some spacer material.
