Thread: check engine ?

    check engine ?

Got a question for the Spark experts on here…I've got a '15 60hp with almost 2 hours on it…I almost fully rolled it Friday, but not completely upside down. Since then, I'm getting an occasional beep w/a check engine warning on the display. The ski is acting like it's in limp mode, but not the 5mph one that I've read others mentioning.
It'll get to about 25mph before beeping, with no further speed increase from that point. Also, it's pretty sluggish to reach 25…
Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    Kelly

I say the first thing is to do read the error codes and reset any that are not cleared

    Will do thanks.
Is this process pretty self explanatory when using the map tuner?

Thank you. Is there a data base that breaks down what each code means?

for most codes the map tuner will say the code I'D or # andsays what the actual fault is

P0106 ECM Manifold Intake pressure sensor

    out of range

    Sensing port

    dirty or blocked.

    Sensor failure

    or unexpected

    reading at idle.

    Sensor fallen

    out of housing

    or leaking inlet.

    For a leak of the

    Intake Manifold,

    the ECM will

    diagnose it only if

    the RPM is greater

    than 5000 RPM.

    Check system circuits

    A-B4, A-G4, A-H2.

    Make sure that the

    sensor housing is correctly

    inserted into the manifold.

    Check sensor connector for:

    a) 5 volts supply

    from ECM on pin 1.

    b) Ground supply

    from ECM on pin 2.

    c) Analog voltage from

sensor to ECM on pin 3.

The 5 volt supply is shared

between the TAS signal 1, TOPS

and MAPS. Verify all three sensor

if one is pulling too much current.

If it was me, I would check the cost of the sensor and if it was cheap I would replace it. I'm a mechanic in the automotive industry and 95% of the time of the scanner says sensor fault, it's the sensor and nothing else.

Well I rode it yesterday after resetting it, and the problem is still there...annoying beeps and restricted performance. I'm gonna look into the cost of the sensor before bringing it in for a checkup.
