Inconsistent WOT RPMS. Please Help!!!
Hello everyone,
I have an on going problem on my 2014 FX-SVHO and I can't figure out what can be causing it.
Here re is my issue. When going on a straight line at WOT the motor runs fine at 8,200 RPMS and it drops to about 7,600 RPMS as soon as I turn the handle bars to the left just a fraction of an inch!!! Then the opposite effect occurs when I turn to the right just a fraction of an inch the motor revs to 8,650 RPMS going into my rev limiter!!! I am just talking a little tad on the steering to keep the boat going at a straight WOT path!!!
I have tried everything back to stock and I get the same effect whoever this is what I have running right now.
1. R&D R3.
2. OEM pump.
3. Solas 13/20 Stock pitch.
4. OEM Pump Nozzle.
5. OEM Pump Cone.
6. Riva Grate. Have tried OEM grate with same results.
7. Jim's cut plate. Have tried OEM Plate with same results.
Ovious questions. Could there be a sensor on the steering system that kills the engine RPMS when you turn left?!!
What do you guys think?!!!
Please help!!!

Spend some time under your ski looking at the transom mounting and intake grate fitment, rideplate and and how everyng matches up. Use a streight edge to check all these parts to be sure they are all fitting correctly to the hull. The slightest miss fit will cause all kinds of weard performance problems. On a rare occasions I have seen a hull deformed in the tunnel aera when it was molded and not allowing the pump shoe to fit correctly. Any water flow inconsistency to the prop will cause you problems. Tommy Jordan

julio , i had a similar problem with a damn vx once and it ended being the throttle cable that goes to the sensor. can't explain why or how , but it was real close to what you're describing with the exception i did not pick as many rpm's ,give it a check\\\\ it was loosing to one side and gaining into the other.

Wow!!! This will make a lot of sense the only problem is I have a fly by wire system and there isn't a throttle cable on the FX-SVHO but it will make spence that the throttle body is actually closing a bit since the RPMS drop about 500 as soon as I turn the handlebars about a 1/4" to the left!!!

Not on the FX-SVHO There isn't a cable!!! The throttle lever is the actual sensor!!!

I'd be looking at the throttle lever area. Maybe stress on the bars is reducing the stroke on the TPS.
