    Yamaha starting problems

    Hi guys,

I have a 1997 yamaha 760. My engine is acting up while starting. Once started, she runs fine with no known issues. When starting, she cranks fine. As soon as she fires, if she does not start right away, I lose electricity and must disconnect then re connect the battery. If she does start, and then I turn her off, I must disconnect then reconnect the battery. This causes problems with cold starts as she may fire once or twice before actually starting.

    Does that make any sense?

    Jason

It was the start lock mechanism. Press and hold the mode but to till you see "code" on the screen. Then press the "a" button 4 times. Started right up!
