    2015 Sea Doo GTI 130 - Handling

I just purchased a 2015 Sea Doo GTI 130 and put it in the water for the first time this weekend. I just sold my 2014 Yamaha VX Cruiser in favour of the Sea Doo because I had issues with the dealer. That and I hated this cheap feeling Nano Excel hull. The difference in handling is night and day between the two brands. The Sea Doo appears to be more stable side to side but when cruising on flat water the Sea Doo appears to track all over the place. It rocks back and forth and slides all over the top of the water and its harder to keep straight. As opposed to the Yamaha, which feels like it will tip over some times, but while cruising along on flat water it was straight as an arrow and never tracked all over the place.

Is there a way to configure the set up on a Sea Doo to get a more stable ride on the water where it is not tracking all over the place? I don't care for speed, I just like to tour around the ocean on calm days. It almost seems like the Sea Doo skims on the top of the water more than the Yammy.

Cheers and thanks in advance for the input.

try a performance intake grate and maybe aftermarket sponsons.

'gratz on the new Doo too.

Anyone have any recommendations on after market sponsons that will improve the handling on my 2015 Sea Doo GTI 130? Not looking at cornering hard or racing. Just looking for control with two people on it...touring around if you will. Stock sponsons have the machine all over the place. Want more stability.

Are the stock sponsons on the Seadoo adjustable maybe? Lowering them for more control?

Stock sponsons are not adjustable on the GTIs.

    RIVA sponsons:

    R&D sponsons:
    http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=966

There's intake grates on that page as well.

Ride it for a while and you will get used to it to the point where it won't even be an issue anymore. At least, that is the theory. It was the same deal with my RXP-X. Now, I am taking full advantage of its "personality".

I believe you have the S3 hull. I've never had the issues you are describing on my 3 different S3 hulls......straight as an arrow and will turn on a dime at almost any speed, very stable. Try to ride another S3 hull boat and compare.

    GTIs aren't S3 hulls.
1 huge difference is the difference in dead-rise...

wasn't aware they have 3 different hulls on their newer ski's

    2015 Sea-Doo GTI SE 130 Review http://www.personalwatercraft.com/

Deeper still, the hull reveals a playful, yet still confident ride. A shallower deadrise means the GTI will feel a little more loose and playful than the GTX series. You can still carve a precise buoy turn, but shift your weight around and you may find you can still spin, slide and play like the watercraft of old. Play with the electric trim to fine-tune the results.

So I assume different sponsons will reduce the playfulness? I don't really want to be spinning....mostly just touring around.
