    F1 code and alarm

Hello everyone need help with a 2003 Honda aquatrax r-12x, ski ran well for 5-10 minutes then started sputtering with the
alarm going off and f1 code. Do I need a new ecu and how do you remove the old one? Thanks

first you need to get the code to see if it is indeed a code 25 if not it might just be something simple.

That's 25 code knock sensor code....more than likely the ecu but could be wiring also....I'd check connections first and check ecu connectors for corrosion

If the ECM is bad (Code 25) it will go into limp mode: low speed with alarm going off. Typically you can shut it down and start it back up and it will run properly for a brief period, then limp again. If you have symptoms of "sputtering" then it may be something else. Best thing to do if possible is find someone in your area with the same ski and see if they will swap ECM with you one way or another to test. It only takes a few minutes to pull the ecm, just pressed into the rubber sleeve and a few big electrical connectors, no screws. I always worry about someone stealing my ECM when I leave one on the trailer at the ramp.

Um, on what ramp do you park your ski, exactly?
