Eagle Mountain lake is ridable as of 6-24-15

FYI: most lakes in the DFW area are closed due to high water... we all know this...I got desperate to ride as did the "Crew" , Brad and Mike , so we tried out Eagle Mountain ....pretty cool lake with a great creek ride and a great river ride...I am not sure if we were ever actually in the river channel, as we passed over lots of grass clumps and barbed wire fences.....costs 10 bucks to launch....Augies by the dam east side has Great burgers and good cold beer...there is an island with a cement slab, tables and metal building cover....executive Beer stop !

But, how safe is it to ride? I heard there are a lot of floating debris. Want to go today but just can't decide.

there was a lot of little scum crap , but no big chunks , most of the debris has blown to the bank. nothing to stop you...we had three skis , Yamaha VXR , Sea-Doo RXP-X, and a Yamaha FZS.....no one had any problems....and we ride up the creek till we ground out ! hope this helps

Thanks. I took the chance and went before I received the reply. The lake was fine in terms of debris. There were a couple logs up nearer the north end. Once you get passed Copeland cove (that is what I call it) the water was very nice and smoothish. From the dam and Harbor 1 marina the water was pretty rough, lots of traffic. My wrists and forearms are beat today.

All in all, not bad though. Guess it being one of few lakes open it is going to be a little rough for a bit.
