Pre mixing oil and gas for 2001 xlt?

I just had my carbs rebuilt on my 2001 1200 xlt. The guy who rebuilts my carbs also removed the hose where you normally put oil in it, and he told me to just mix my oil straight in with the gas (50:1). But I've noticed since then, my warning light has been coming on flashing "exhaust". So I'll turn off the jet ski, wait a minute or two, then keep on going and it's fine. Could this be because I'm mixing the oil now?

Get rid of the cat and put in a DPlate. Sounds like your cat is going out.

And 40:1 is a better ratio.

I typically run 32:1 on my PV engines, because why not.

You need to ask more questions to the guy who rebuilt your carbs. What did he do will the oil lines? did he install a block off kit? I hope he got your agreement on this. While the auto oil feed can fail and cook the engine, you now are responsible for getting the oil right in your fuel. So you need to be the only one who puts fuel in the tank. And you do need to be greater than 50:1 oil mix (40:1 or 32:1). The 32:1 might save your but if you add bas but forget the oil.
