Genesis ffi runs for 1 to 5 minutes then quits

First off I have never asked questions online so please bear with me. I have a 2000 fresh water genesis 49 hours and it will start and run for 3 to 5 minutes then dies. I can wait for 5 to 10 minutes and it will run for about 2 minutes. I've replaced all fuel lines and reattached the regulator but is still doing the same thing. It just started this spring (as I'm on lake Erie). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a fuel injected engine, correct?

Check that the water cooling to the EMM module is in fact flowing water and that the small water exit to the rear of the hull is not knocked or crushed.

There are some diagnostics that you can do to narrow down the likely failure. That said, it is common for these Ficht EMM to need internal repair. There are some electronic components inside that typically fail with age even on low running hour engines.

Another common failure item is the Throttle Position Sensor. While your symptoms do not point to the TPS, it is recommended to have a spare TPS on hand as there is no workaround for a failing TPS. The original TPS are known to become unreliable and often fail over time. The newer TPS has been revised for better reliability.
