Question Complete Newbie & 2015 FX Cruiser SVHO - hull damage (best way to go about it?).

    Hi everyone,

Very new here and very new to Yamaha wave-runners. Great forum with a ton of information (little overwhelming).

I just got this boat "FX Cruiser SVHO" three weeks ago, barely broke the 10 hours mark and i was getting it cleaned and waxed before i bring it into the dealers to get the first service, when i noticed two paint chips.
These are almost same size chips on both sides of the hull, almost symmetrically opposite, wondering if that may be the damage from the trailer. (Trailer has raised tail lamp aluminum posts that line up with the damage when in water). It's pretty embarrassing considering only myself and the wife have ever taken the boat off the trailer.

That aside, after reading through some posts here, the best way to fix the damage would be getting a west marine repair kit. How hard is it, and mind you i have never done any repair like this?
Would someone completely "green" be able to perform this repair or should i leave it to a professionals. Considering i am in Canada and have no idea where to look for one that works with boats.
I have a friend who owns auto body shop and was thinking of just having him paint the area and apply a lot of clear coat. Is that something i could consider.

Any help and guidance greatly appreciated.

That's not clear coat, that's gel coat or put a decal over that...

Well, only one option left, West System Repair Kit. I guess i will need to try this on something first before i attempt the repair to actual boat. I am sure i can find a piece of old boat to practice on.

Thanks for clearing this up for me.
