Guys need some specs. converted an 185hp to 215 plus hp..

long story short, my 2003 185hp engine is now rubbish, i got a 255 short block rebuilt with all the goodies. but i got the 185 charger installed with the 16 thooth gear so really now 215hp charger. i got a external cooler going on aswell. ill be running the 185 ecu just to run it in and untill i get my hands on a 215 ecu. but what im after is fuel pressure specs.
i have been looking through manuals but cant find it. we are putting on a variable fuel presure reg but would love to know what presure the 215 runs at max boost. anyone know? also what do the 185 hp run at?

58 psi for both, actually all Doos.

    38 # injectors on 185, 42 # on 215

I thought that 185's ran 38lb injectors at a lower pressure (like 44 psi) and the 215's ran the same 38lb injectors at 58psi??

    You are correct.

Steven. let me get this correct you have a 255 spec engine, but change the gear on your old charger to make it work?

Well really the only differences in the two set ups.... Motor wise is that you are gonna install a External IC. The 185 motor is put togethere and the same as the 255. You used you old SCer with the 16 tooth gear. So it is a 215 SCer now.

The Fuel pressure reg in you ski is a lower fuel pressure than the stock 215s and 255. they are 58lbs. Since you don't want to run it I would suggest this....

Wait for 215 ECU or get a aftermarket fuel pressure reg. and adjust AFR with wideband.

Your 185 is different from a 215 because of this

    ECU
    Stock fuel pressure reg.
    Flywheel and SCer gear
Cast pistons Vs Forged, but not a big deal.

    I have made a 185 a 215 easy

    Chang to 215 ECU
Get the rxt rxp Stock FPR off tank Cheap $30 in classidfieds here.
Swap Flywheel and SCer gear (You have done)
Your new 255 motor has forged pistons. GOOD.
You can run a external IC with this set up no big deal, but when you goto a X SCer add 42lb injectors.

Hope I explained it OK if not ask question and I will answer. I HAVE DONE THIS SWAP!

yeah all good. its a rebuilt 255 short block but with my inlet and charger (charger has the 215 gear) but sweet. i wanted to grab the factory 215 reg but the bloke working on my ski has this riva reg he wants to put on it. also my 2003 inlet has no IC so a mate gave me an external Riva cooler that the core is stuffed.. i found a New core and its getting tig welded this weekend. so its going in. the new head has all the riva valve springs and retainers, new manily valves, new valve guides. so down the road i would say the x charger will be going on..
