    Post Yamaha oil question

    Just bought a 2003 Yamaha XLT 800...what is the recommended oil and wieght to use in one of these machines.

    It uses 2-Stroke oil. Here is an option for you. AMSOIL Synthetic 2-Stroke Injector Oi:

    You can use Yamaha lube 2stroke.

    I've been researching options and some say yamalube is a waste of money that the cheaper stuff/off brands are just as good...what are some thoughts and experiences?? Please help cuz I'm new to the ski world. Thanks!!

    Never had a 2 stroke ski, but used yamalube in my outboard that I ran the hell out of for 16 years. I never had a problem. If you check with a few boat dealers there should be one that sales it in bulk for a lot cheaper. Thats what I use with my new 2 stroke outboard and in both my Wave Runners. I do use Amsoil in just about everything else. Both have served me well.

    Spending a little more for good oil is cheap insurance for any engine.
