2008 stx 15f starting issues
Hope someone may have some insight. I have owned this for only one season with no issues had serviced when I bought used with clean bill of health. Recently I had the ski out for a week long lake vacation and it started fine for first day. It would start fine in the morning, but once in awhile it would not want to start the batt warning would sound because of too much cranking? I would wait then try again it would eventually start, but after running for awhile I am use to just hitting the button and going. Any ideas what to check? I did. Make sure to use no ethanol gas and ran a can of sea foam gas treatment also. Can file filter cause this or could it need new plugs it has ran about 10-15 hours since service of beginning of last year.
thanks in advance,

hot start issue, splash water on the temp sensor in the exhaust to cool it down.

Does the newer sensor fixes this issue?

Its an 08 just like KGK. Is it the one on the exhaust manifold ? Or the one in front of the engine? Both?

Both need to be replaced if you want to update to the new sensors.

I was shocked by this hot start issue on the 2012 15F I recently bought. Only 60hrs on ski. I'm glad I found it's a common issue. I found that opening the seat for a few minutes allowed it to start, now I know to splash water on the manifold temp sensor to further cool it.

The seat - it only takes a minute or 2. Water on sensor helps. There is no "Fix" at this point and 90+% of the time never an issue. Just usually after long hot rides.

I must be a lucky one I have put a hundred hours on my 2006 & have never had this issue, but I have modified the water flow so more water that stock flows through the entire system, the engine does run a bit cooler.

Have an 08 and seems to happen sometimes, usually it happens if I get some seagrass clogging the intake and I come to a idle and it starts to overheat...then it takes like 5-10 min to start up again.
This ski is a magnet for sucking in grass like no other ski I have owned.
