    Metal gasket re-use?

I apologize if this as been posted somewhere else, but I failed to find it.

I already know I can re-use the head gasket with a coating of copper gasket maker on it but what about base, exhaust, power valves gaskets?
Seems every gasket is made out of metal on this 2001 GP1200r.

I called the dealership and of course he would put new ones in all around, but he makes money out of selling parts so...

I have done it. Had no problems. I would only use them once like that though and only if you didn't use copper the first time around. So to clarify used them once when they were new didn't use any copper stuff , removed them and reused them with copper you are good to do.

I always reuse mine. Either copper spray or grease

from the other side of the street:

how much trouble will it be if one of the reused gaskets fail to do its job?

I prefer dice to slots. Better odds.

Unless you are having a chronic problem that would cost a fortune, replace the gaskets when you are "done"

Although I haven't checked prices on Yamaha gaskets yet.
I just ordered one for the Seadoo at 138$CND.

I own 2 gpr's, both are in the shop and now so is my RXTX.
All 3 require pulling the motors.
    Shit get's expensive!

Just trying to save as much as I can safely, but don't want to have to re do this either.

imo , the only gasket that has the biggest % rate of failure is the head gasket , i always use new O.E.M head gasket and crank seals.
