Thermostat mod question
I am thinking about doing the Riva thermostat to 30 degrees cooler. But I also saw another company called SD selling just the thermostat and housing for 70.00 . Is everyone just using Riva?

You might be confusing an open-loop housing for closed-loop usage....
If not, you must be talking about those "knock-offs" listed on ebay (they are $70). While yes, you can buy just the "thermostat housing" and source the other parts needed, the Riva "kit" comes with high quality hoses, fittings, adapter and most importantly, the billet plate to replace the OEM waterpump.

Were you planning to modify the OEM plastic waterpump housing to make the open-loop?

The intermediate housing will probably take more like 10 pumps. Do it nice...
